Randall Park Mall

Back in February of 2015 I thought I would try to be all cool and become an abandoned urbex type photographer. Turns out that it is super dangerous and sketchy. Nonetheless, I wanted to share some photos I took of Randall Park Mall. Once the biggest shopping mall in America (I have read that a few times but the jury is still out on the absolute fact) this now-defunct retail center is an Amazon distribution warehouse.

This was one of the first places I had ever photographed with a really great camera - the Canon Mark iii. I note this because the images are just ok. I hadn’t learned a whole lot about proper framing, subject, lighting, ISO, etc. I could have taken all these with my current iPhone XR. It is not always about the equipment, but apply what you learn along the way.

Anyway, I enjoy the photos because it shows me how far I have come in a handful of years. It was also just a cool space to see completely void of the humanity that once thrived inside.
